- Notes
- The "Bayside" property was owned by William Gordon from 1838 to 1888. From 1888 until 1912, the farm was the home of John Smith. In the summer of 1901, Mr. Smith built a barn north of his home on the site where the Ontario Hospital nurses' residence was later located. In 1912, the property was purchased by the provincial government for the Ontario Hospital (later known as Whitby Psychiatric Hospital).
