- This picture was taken in front of the public school on the north side of Winchester Street, west of Simcoe Street. The school was built in 1855 and demolished in 1923. This picture has been printed on page 6 of "100 Years of Brooklin Schools. In the identifying information, the book identified students in the back row, Marion Spencer as "Miriam" Spencer, Bill Cobay as "Bertha" Cobay, Bill Foley as "Bell" Foley, and Bill Walker as "Bell" Walker. In the second row, May Slater is identified as May "Staten". The front row identifies Frank Colwill as Frank or "Charles" Colwill. It is unclear at this time which is correct.
