- A black and white photographic postcard of Myrtle Station Methodist Church.
- Notes
- This photograph was taken one year after the church was opened. The corner stone of the church was laid on August 27, 1908 by Peter Christie, MP for Ontario South. The church was dedicated on January 31, 1909. The church was located on the east side of Highway 12, south of the railway tracks.
Peter Christie (1846-1933) was a farmer of Scottish decent who was born in Reach Township, Canada West. He ran for election in Grey East but was defeated in June 1882. Later, he became affiliated with the Conservative party. He was then elected as a federal member of parliament on November 3 1904 for Ontario South and was defeated in the Canada South constituency October 26, 1908. - Date of Original
