- This is a black and white photograph of T.W. Brookes's General Store in Myrtle. Mr. Brookes can be seen standing on the veranda in this photograph.
- Notes
- The general store was operated by Thomas William Brookes. T.W. Brookes operated the general store at Myrtle at the north east corner of Highway 12 and the 9th Concession of Whitby Township starting in 1903. He later moved to Oshawa where he operated a grocery store on Celina Street. The Myrtle general store was demolished in 1967. The store was also the Myrtle post office.
