- Notes
- The Ontario Hotel was located at 124 Brock Street North (at the north west corner of Brock and Elm Streets). Alex Whitelaw was the first caretaker of the Whitby Post Office when it opened in 1910. He had one arm and was a travelling salesman for the Buckle Factory. The Whitelaw family came to Whitby from Reach Township in 1889. Destroyed by fire, September 13, 2017 and demolished.
