Description
A clipping from The Whitby Chronicle of an advertisement for the Royal Hotel.
Notes
The three storey brick building depicted in this lithograph was the first Royal Hotel at 171 Brock Street North (located on the east side of Brock Street, south of Mary Street). It was built in 1862, but was destroyed by fire March 6, 1872. The proprietor at the time of this print was Jacob Bryan. A new hotel was built on the same site to replace this building in 1873.

Underneath Print: "E. HOOPER. Toronto." "CHARGES NO HIGHER THAN THE OTHER HOTELS IN WHITBY. JACOB BRYAN, PROPRIETOR."
