I think the one little building is still there and they were selling firewood. When it was a gas station it was also a convenience store/restaurant. Patricia Kirkwood Irwin and her husband Doug Irwin lived there. His parents owned it.

The Brooklin Heritage Society Facebook Group has worked together to verify this location.

One of buildings remains on Hwy 12 North of Brooklin, the first building on the west side north of Duff's side road. (According to Google Maps its current address is: 7500 Baldwin St North.)

One commentator noted that it became 'Lyle's Cut Rate Gas' but without a restaurant, after it was the Wagon Wheel Restaurant and Gas Station.

A former employee referred to Stan Irwin as 'Dusty.'

Just some clarification and spelling of names as to the comments already posted.

The Wagon Wheel was owned by Stan and Vi IRVINE (my grandparents). Doug Irvine is my father and lived there as a child.

Patricia Kirkwood-Irvine my mother but never lived there.

Stan and Dusty are not the same person.

My grandfather Stan died when my father was young. My grandmother remarried Dusty years later and he owned the Shell station in Brooklin.

Thanks for the post - it was amazing to see a picture of it!
