Notes
William Franklin (Frank) Batty was born in East Whitby Township about a mile east of Kedron, on January 3, 1878. On December 30, 1903, he married Charlotte Ester Coakwell and moved to the Coakwell farm on lot 25, concession 5, Whitby Township. A breeder of Clydesdale horses, he exhibited at the Canadian National Exhibition for 70 years, starting in 1897. His farm was known as Crescent Stock Farm and was taken over later by his son John Batty.

John Franklin Batty was born near Brooklin on 14 October 1915 and took over the family farm, Crescent Stock Farm, in 1931, raising Clydesdale horses and Jersey cattle. He was a breeder, exhibitor, and livestock judge.
