- Notes
- James Ronald Love (1913-1969) married Ethel Margaret Somerville and they had four children (William, David, Ronald and Allan). According to the Daily Times-Gazette (Oshawa) on September 23, 1949, Sergeant Ronald Love was promoted to succeed Chief W.J. Elliott who retired at the end of September. It was under Chief Elliott that Sergeant Love started as a constable on the Whitby force.
