- Black and white negative showing the fire at the residence of Thomas Shearer in 1948. There are firefighters on the roof of the house pointing a hose into one of the windows.
- Notes
- This frame house was the residence of Thomas Shearer and his family. It was built in the 1850s and was located at 215 Perry Street in Whitby.
The fire broke out on the roof of the home from sparks from the stove. The second floor was severely damaged. The house was repaired and the Shearer family moved back in. The house was demolished in 1982. - Inscriptions
