- D.B. Coleman was educated at the university of Toronto, B.A. 1914, LL.B. 1916. He formed a partnership with W.A. Macomb under the name of Macombe and Coleman. He also practiced with the firm of Gregory, Gooderham, Campbell and Coleman in Toronto. He was active in Welland County politics and was elected president of the Welland City Liberal Association in 1932 and 1934. He was appointed to the Bench of Ontario County in 1936 where he succeeded the late Judge Robert Ruddy. He was member of the National Club and member of the Oshawa Golf Club.
