Description

A black and white photograph of the official opening of Faith Baptist Church.

Notes

The Faith Baptist Church was built in 1959 and opened on November 29 of that year. It was replaced by a larger church on Taunton Road East at the end of 1979. In 1980 it was converted into a dinner theatre, and later reverted back to being a church. The picture shows the officials at the pulpit at the official opening. Left to right: Mayor Harry Jermyn, Reverend John Ward, Minister of Whitby Baptist Church; Reverend Ellard C. Corbett, Minister of Faith Baptist Church; Reverend John Down, G. Knudsen, F. Lamb.
