- A black and white photograph of Herbert Luther Pringle.
- Notes
- Herbert Luther Pringle was born at Whitby on April 5, 1885. After his graduation, from the University of Toronto's School of Practical Science, in 1906 he was a railroad engineer for seven years in the Philippines. He then worked on banana plantations as an Irrigation Engineer in Columbia. He returned to Whitby in 1917. In 1925, he became Whitby's Town Engineer, an Engineering Consultant for the Public Utilities Commission. In 1933, he became the Superintendent and Secretary-Treasurer of the P.U.C, and retired in 1961. In the 1920s he was also Assessor, Tax Collector, Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector. He died in Oshawa on May 1, 1965, and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
