Adrian Vargas captured two firsts in the boys 8 and under category for the 50 metre free style and the 50 nietre back stroke. 1Kevin Walker and Robbie Walsh placed well in the Boys 11/12* category with their first place finishes in the 100 metre free style, 100 mnetre fly and the 100 metre breast stroke and the 100 metre back s'troke rcspectively. Mike P.feiffer picked up two first place ribbons for the 100 metre breast stroke and the 200 metre I.M. Teammate John Aldridge picked up two first in the 100 metre freestyle and the 100 metre back stroke for the same boys 15 and over category., The girl's had sxi strong finishers. Julie Leswxck captured two flrst for the girls 8 and under category in the 50 metre freestyle and the 50 rnetre back stroke. Toby Hannan took the girls 10 and under 100 metre back stroke, 100 metre free style and the 200 metre I.M. while Janice Currie won the 50 fly and the. 100 metre breast stroke. Kimi Walker placed first in the 100 metre back stroke, the, 100 metre freestyle and the 100 metre fly events for the girls 13/14 category. Kelly Wallcer place first in the 13/14 100 metre breast stroke and the 200 metre I.M. Jenny Connor captured one first place award for the 100 metre fly. * WISC's next meet will be held on December 14 in Oshawa. p - - - Spotlight on J IS (3 In order to promote young new talent in the Town of Whitby, the Free Press, in conjun- ction with the Whitby Iroquois Swim Club, will be running a series of young promising swimmers who have just joined the club. The first swinmer is six-year-old Anne Windover of Whitby. Anne attends St. John's school and likes lacrosse, figure skating and ringette. Her favorite aspect of belonging to a club like WISC is the competative nature of swim- ming. In her most reent meet this past weekend Anne picked Up two second place finishes ini the 50 metre backstroke and free style and two thirds in the 25 metre fly and the 50 metre breast stroke. -Free Press Staff Photo.
