GREENAWAY Free Press Staff The Henry Street Hawks were stili enjoying their win over Pickering the week before when they ran head long into Dunharten last week and almost carne out the worst for it. The Pickering game, which Henry won 24-7, was in coach Pat Pucknell's estimation 'la well played, well executed garne. " The game againat Dun- barten was the opposite, marred by fumbles, dropped passes and poor blocking, yet the Hawks still rnanaged to uphold their undefeated record corning out on top 27- 26. "We knew ail along what they were going to run and yet couldn't stop then, " said Pucknell. "They are the best tearn we have corne up against yet." Dunbarten took the lead 6- 0 on the first drive of the game but Henry- returned the favour on the next series of plays and made good their convert, taking the lead 7-6. Another touchdown later a disillusioned Henry Street tearn were behind 26-14. Crys of I"Rernember Bowrnanville" spurred on the down but not out Henry Hawks produced two touchdowns on the last two plays of the gaine, squeaking thern past Dun- barton 27-26 when the final whistle blew. "We ail went a littie nuts when we won but I think that everybody realized, we played a bad game," said Pucknell. He said that his tearn were not into the game at ail in part due to the tearn's good playing the previous week against Pickering. Another factor which con- tributed to the near disaster were five injuries which Henry suffered on the field. Henry scorers were John Paul Aggett with two touch- downs, Greg Borchuck with one TD and a convert and Rob Artner who scored the winning TD, to put thern to 27. "We are definately a second-half team," said. Pucknell. Last week's game was not the first one which Henry have corne from behind to ciinch. Earlier on in the season a second haîf rally against Bowrnanville saved them. "The guys are stili run- ning off the Henry football tearn's past, and they think it's going tÔ be easy and it takes a couple of hits each garne to smarten thern up" 111 really think that yù.. ;erdays garne will snap them out of these thoughtsa bit."y lm or' ~5~- 4 _ T ~7977 HIenry vs Dun barton The Henry Street Hawks senior football team had a little Dave McLure, 22, of Dunbarton evad' trouble in their game with Dunbarton last week.
