This tale is about a telI-alI CIA maverick and bis chic and sexy mistress. It is typical Matthau and if you happen to like him, as millions do, then you'll like this, film. The story is cornedy with thrills thrown in for good measure and this is the combination that usuaily pays off.- Also, one has to consider that the movie was made from a best-selling novel. This is another asset that generalY bringe them to the box of- fice. Too bad that more films are not like this. Two other films that have been doing well at local theatres are My Bodyguard and The Hunter. Steve McQueen as a modern day bounty hunter has to use his wits adld age is slowing hlm down a little. In real lfe, McQueen has had a few physical problems, but «YOU would neyer know it from watching hlm in this fast moving thriller. My Bodyguard stars Chris Makepeace, Ruth Gordon, Matt Dillon and John Houseman. It's a movie that many will enjoy and has it's warrn moments as well as some humorous ones. Charlton Heston was in Toronto last week to, promote bis current epic, labeiled The Mountain Men. It is quite different from anything he has done in the past. Instead of the usual rugged he-man type, he ap- pears in this one as a griz- zled, dirty old mountain man. Heston with Brian Keith make quite a match. Heston, the typical proud father neyer fails to mention in an interview about the film, that it was written by his son. This movie is now showing at the Marks theatre in Oshawa. And if you like to sit On the edge of your seat tbrough a show, drop in and see He Knows You're Alone, currently playing at the Regent in Oshawa. THNE BANDITBil EVES. 7 & 9 P.M.
