Under the old contract, the lowest salary rate of $9,900 was paid to a mail clerk with the highest ($26,000) paid to a senior planner. The agreement also provides for a 10 cents an hour increase in the shift dremium, increased mileage allowance and six weeks of holidays after 30 years service. The increase will cost Durham taxpayers ap- proximately $400,000. Effective Tuesday, Sep- tember 2, 1980, a 30 day bus pass can be purchased by students regardless of age for just $9. per month. There will be no limitation on the nuniber of rides a person can take during any 30 day period.
