Bob' Nichols, com- missioner of development for the region told regional council at its meeting last week that Whitby, Pickering, and Oshawa won ribbons in the competition. Whitby tried with the Mon- treal Urban Community for the best overali promotional data material. Pickering received a prize for the best mailing piece and the City of Oshawa won a superior rating in the same catagory. The Region of Durham, however, only won a more than honorable mention for materiAdS that it has produced to aid developers in bringing t.heir business to the region. The reason that it won only a honorable men- tion, Nichols said, was because there was no catagory for it to be judged in. The material was far ahead of its time, he told counicil.
