PAGE 6, WEDNESDAY, APRI L 2, 1980, WIIITBY FREE PRESS From page 4: Quebec will flot leave a Canada she already controls Despîte a stili-large English speaklng minority ln Quebec, the English language is no longer tolerated there. But both New Brun- swick and Ontarlo are now bîlingual, with their civil services betng changed over to French-Canadian con- trol faster than the eye can foilow. The remainIng provinces wilI be similariy conver- ted within the next few years. Billions of dollars of our taxes have been poured into our provinces and into Francophone Associa- tions across Canada tc achieve that goal, both by our Federal Gover- nment and by Quebec itself. Our Federai Government public service, our armed for- ces, the RCMP, and 429 Crown Corporations including Air Canada, CN, CBC, and CRTC are already firmly In French Canadian controt. Why are these things taking place? Two for- mer Members of Parliament have told me that Mr. Trudeau's goal is an all-French Canada. One of themn, Mr. Leonard Jones, the former mayor of Mon- cton, said that the job is already done and that if English- speaking Canada doesn't stand up now, tio we 've already lost this country. 1 arn suggesting that we stop worrying about Quebec, for Quebec has no Intention of leaving the Canada that It already controls. In- stead we should now be declaring the nîne provinces outside of Quebec to be English- speaking, Just as Quebec has declared itself to be French- speaklng. Then let terms. If flot we will be jolning Quebec on Its terms, and those terms, with Mr. Trudeau as ar- biter, mean an ail- French Canada. If i didn't have proof of what was golng on In My f 1lrst book "Bilingual Today, French Tomorrow", there Is no shortage of proof in my recent book "Backdoor Bilîngual- ism", where I also suggest how we can put an end to this un- declared war for our country. Our poilticians have failed us, and now it Is Up to Canadians themselves. Either we move now or we might as well learn to say "Yes sir" ln French. Yours sincerely, J.V. Andrew, Lt. Cmdr. (Retired> Perth, Ontario. 0m %sý
