Hannah "Dolly" Beal, a resident of Whitby's Sunnycrest Nursing Home, was born 101 years ago today In Scarborough, Yorkshire, England. Mrs. Beal was an embroideress for many years with the old Rowntrees Department Store where she created bridai gowns and dresses for many of Toronto's wealthy ladies. Mrs. Beal came to Canada with her husband, Earnest, in 1912.
