More information concerning the fair wiIl follow. NOTE It has corne to my attention that many people do not have much background information on the various clubs in the Brookiin area. For this reason, I will begin running items on- the organizations people may join in our community. Perhaps, if people were better informed, they would be more inclined to join or at least attend some meetings. If you would like a sumnmary about your club printed, please caîl me or leave an item at Brown's. Than you for your cooperation. Suan Smilth 655-3932 Brown's Foudmaster (before noon Saturday) There does flot seem to be a great rift between the provincial and the federal Tories, at least not in On- tario Riding. Last week, former Ontario agriculture minister and Tory MPP for Durham- York, BiU Newman and Durham-West PC MPP George Ashe attended a dimeet the candidate" night where they gave a helping hand to incumbent Ontario rlding MP Scott Fenneil. In Nis remarks, Ashe, the parliamentary assistant to the Ontario energy minister, came out in support of Fen- nell's proposai to use surplus electrical energy to electrify the Windsor-Toronto- Oshawa rail line. Fennell's proposai to have the GO train service expan- ded to serve Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa, and also A ew dining experience A new dinlng experience is corning to Whitby in the near future. Cedricks, at 173 Brock Street North, is opening up a dining lounge that will specialize in crepes. Crepes are thin pancakes that may be filled with beef, chicken, seafood or fruit and owner Ed Przybylski says that they're going to specialize in these foods because he feels that there's no market in the already over-run steak and seafood field. Cedrick's lounge wiII of- ficially open on February 20 and promises ta have a quiet, relaxed atmosphere until the late evening, especially on weekends, when the disco lights will begin to flash and the disc- jockey starts cranking up about 9 p.m. For those who rernember (or wish to return to, even for an evening) the rock'n'roll days of the 1950's and 60's, an "olden-goldie" night will be held every Thursday when the Platters, Elvis Presley and Fats Domino (just to naine a few) will bring the music of the start of rock. Those wishing to attend should plan te arrive early for dinner and then dance the night away. Cedrick's also has a large licensed banquet hall that wifl seat about 140 people complete with a dance floor and sel-contained catering facility. The hall is also available for rentals for any special occasion and is soun- dproofed from the upestairs lounge te allow for two com- pletely separate functions. To inquire about renting the faciities, cail 668-M=2. Cedricks, opened last fail on a part-tirne baîsi as a disco which features an elaborate light syçte*n with three-ten-way light spin- ners, mirror halls, ramn lights, light racers and rotating spots. To top things off , there is a top quality sound system which Ed Przybylski says is loud enough, but does not sacrifice the intîrnacy of personal conversations. Seating around the dance floor is limited ta 90 people and while Cedrick's is licen- sed, a strict dress code is in effect. (No jeans and t- shirts, specifically.) Cedrick's held a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" Par- ty, complete with movie last Friday night. A fashion show is also in the offing for February 13 featuring clothing from P3 In the Oshawa Centre. The models will be froni Phase 2, also in the Oshawa Centre and their designs wilI be done by Exclusive Hair NOW OPEN DJ. AUTO SALES LTD. Hwy. 7 & 12 (Jusi north of Brooklln) 655u391 2 Why Freeze?
