I feel 80 special knowing that people are nominating us,'l says Stephen Gray, vice- president of the foundation. "But even more, it's good to know that we did something good for so many people." The students gratly exoeede4 their goal of$ 1,000, raising'*3,300 for existing charities.,, local and worldwide, that help either children or the environment. The group was nominated by, Anne Sunumers, a representative of the Children's Wish Foundation. Sumzners had attended one of the students regular business meetings and was very impressed with the maturity and sensiti'vity that they displayed. The Kids Roaching Out Foundation raxsed funds individually and as a class through projects such as car washes, auctions and a talent show. Austin students realize that Christmas is a time for glving and as a testament t< this, we are contlnulng the annual Christmas basket collection. Each homeroom is sponsoring a different needy ~'family in the community with donations of money, food, toys and other items. Remember, every little bit counts. The Annesty International Club ià continuing its tradition of candy-grams. A card, combined with candycane, will be delivered te that special someone before Christmas break. ..Candy-grams can be purchased for 50 cents each, or you can get a bargain at flye for $2.
