In the first gaine, Whitby tied 3-3 on Matt Walton's goal with less than four minutes to go. Wildcats lost by a goal to North Bay Fzidge, and had te win their next game te advance. Trailing Copper Oiff Redmen 2-1 late in the gaine, Whitby coach Tr-oy May oelled for a check of a stick of a Copper Cliff player and an illegal stick infraction was- called and Whitby had a two- man advantage. .David Dittinar tied the score, May then pulled the goalie to maintain the two- man advance,. and Matt Fortier scored the gaine- winning goal. In the consolation final, Whitby had a 3" victery over Sudbury Sports City Red Wings. Goalie Derek Rivest was honoured twicc during the tournament with game MVP honours while Marc Lamers and goalie Andrew Hickey were the other recipients. Lead scorers for Whitby in the tournament included Walton with six points and Danny Small with five.
