Marks father runs an IGA in Bay Ridges and Mark has managed 10 different stores for one of the'big chains. "We're very thankful for the support the people of Brooklin have shown us over the past year," he said. To oelebrate the anniversary, everyone in Brooklin was invited te enter their naine for a chance te win the OTO that was parked outside the store Saturday afternoon. Since the Gibbons have taken over, the store has been renovated and a full lune of national brands are a'vailable. Àlthough limited in space, Mark says- the Brooklin store offers friendly, responsive service. BOYs and girls froin the Brooklin area, aged 10 to 14, were named local champions of the KrLWghts of Columbus International free throw championship and will advance te the district level competition. St. Leo's council 011528 in Brooklin sponsored the' local competition at Meadowcrest school. Youth aged 10 to, 14 were eligible to, participate. Keri Verniooy was the 10-year- old girls' champion and, Brad Dyment was the winner of the 10- year-old boys3'division. In the. 11-year-old bracket of the competition, Jamie Goodmnan was the girls' champion and -Adam Bright was the boys' champion. Twelve-year-old winxiers' in the girls' and boys' divisions were Lauren Bebber and Trevor Page. The 13-year-old girls' division was won by Katherine Scott and the boys' champion was Brad Hibbs. Each contestant was allowed 15 free throw attemts in the contest and tdes were settled by a round of five free throws per contestant. International champions are determined based on scores at the state competitions, made up of winners from the district competition.
