A permit was aise issued for $500,000 worth of work on Winners, part of the Invar project next to Home Depot. Residential construction in 1995 is well below last year's levels - $32-niillion worth compared to $81 -million in 1994. But there is much more commercial and industrial building this year. As of November, the Town had collected more than $1 million in permit fées. Oèhawa and area entrepreneurs starting a business and existing corporations expanding a business can prepare registrations and electronically transmit them te, the different ininistries involved. "By geing signaturelees and paperless, we will cut the turnaround time for business registration from four te six weks when done by mail, te five working days through the workstation," eays Oshawa MPP Jeriy uellette. Oshawa has one of 41 Ontario Business Registration Access (OBRA) workstations established in Ontario.
