Cohen gets U.S. hockey scholarship Sandy Cohen of Whitby has been awarded a full athletic hockey scholarship to -the University of New Hampshire -in Durham, N.H. The University of New Hampuire is an NCAA division 1 hockey afliliate and plays in the Hockey East Conference, which is made up of 'teains from. Boston University, Maine, University of Mass;.-Lowell,,Boston College and Northeastern. Cohen played minor hockey in Whitby froin the atom level te midget. Hie played one year for the Markham Waxers and was on the 1994 OHIA ail-star teain in his rookie year. The 1994-95 season, he played in Colorado for the Vail Avalanche, in the American Frontier Hockey League. He was the league's leading goalacorer with 45 goals and 30 assiste. For the 1995-96 season he le playing in the U.S. Hockey League for the Sioux City Musketeers located in Iowa, where he le the teani's leading scorer with 16 goals and 12 assiste. Cohen will start bhis academic and hockey career at UNH in the faîl of '96.
