In the tournament opener Ktinettes defeated Whitbys C3 teain sponsored by Ian Martn Ltd., 3-1. Lindsay McGiUl was spectacular in the cage for the C3s facing a battery of Kinette shots. Laura Campbell, Ashley Taylor and Kristen Alphonso accounted for the final scoring. Kinettes then defeated VWtby's Cl Mlister Transmission 10-3. Campbell fired four goals while Alphonso and Danielle Morrison netted a pair each. Taylor and Kaufmnann recorded singles. Jessicýda Bradley replied with two goals and Jainie Doggart one for Mister Transmission. .In the third match of the primary round, Kinettes took on Ajax, e oter undefeated teain of the division, and handed them a 4-2 loss. Campbell completed a bat trick while Taylor banged in a single. Emily Mountjoy picked up her second straight win in nets. The final proved te be a rematch of the previous gaine with Kînettes facing Ajax. Ini their second match, playing against the Nick Bakewell rink from Dixie Curling Club (the lst winners of tbe Whitby and Avonlea bonspiels earlier this season), the McArthur team scored a four-ender in the fourth end en route to, a 6-5 victory. Kinettes started the campaign with eight first-year players and one under-age bunny. Baunn.ies win again Wihitby* Pringle Creek IGA bunnies were champions for the second time in two weeks by. winning the Whitby ringette tournament over the weekend against teams from Pickering and Oshawa. Victoria Kaufmnann got the winning goal with two seconds left on the dlock to take the final gaine 9-8 over Pickering. She had a total of seven goals and two assists for the tournament. Alison Williams had eight goals and two assists, Kelly Scbad four goals and two assists, Amy Moulton three goals and two assi-sts, Veronica Johnston two goals and an assist, Katie Scott a pair of assists. Solid goaltending was provided by Rebecca Cull. In regular season play, Whitby defeated Oshawa 8-5 on Sunday. Scoring for Whitby were Schad with four goals and two assists, Scott with two goals and an assist, Nichole Young with a goal and an assist, Gill with a goal. Kristen Millar played well in net.
