A total of 21 parents or guardians (six from Oshawa, four from each of Whitby, Ajax and Pickering, and one from each of Brock, Scugog and 'Uxbridge townships) will be elected to serve for a two-year period. IThe Durham board's superintendent 0of education/community services, Bruce Walker, and two trustees will be non-voting members of the committee. The council will serve as an organizing body for community consultation on issues of interest, and provide information to and receive input from municipal or area parent groups. It will meet at least once a month during its first term.
