Whitby opened with a 5-1 loss te Clarkson, then defeated Sault Ste. Marie 6-0 and South London 14-1 (mercy rule). In the semil-finals against a strong Burlington teain, Whitby played one of its best games oif theear to win 3-1. The final pitted Whitby against Clarkson in a rematch. But this time around, Clarkson couldn't contain the Whitby offenoe that banged out 13 bits and won 13-3 i a game that ended early due te, the mercy rule. Brett Backman pitched i the shutout victory over Sault Ste. Marie and also i the win over Burlintn. Matthew Tosoni pitched and was named moot valuable player ithe final. For the tournament, Adamn Sylvestre had il bits in 14 offi- mal at-bats and scored nine runs.
