Approving a motion from Osh- awa councillor John GraY, the board appointed Oshawa council- lor Brian Nicholson and Ajax councilior Roger Anderson as chairs in 1996 and 1997 respec- tively. Whitby councillor Marcel Brunelle, who initiaiiy nomina- ted Harreil, was taken aback by Gray's proposai. But after hearing that the motion was legal and that the appointments must be ratified at the 1996 and 1997 annual meet- ings, Bruneile agreed te with- draw his nominati'on. Brunelle and Whitby resident David Archer were then named te the executive committee aiong with Harreli, Nicholsono, John- son, Claintn councillor Larry Hannah and Katrena Hallidlay of Ajax. Archer and Haliiday were appointed to the 15-member authority by the Ontario govern- ment. The other 13 are ail Dur- ham Region counciliors. Councillors Joe Drumm, a for- mer CLOCA chair , and Gerr Emm are Whitby's other repre- sentatives.
