The 1986 musical by Tim Ri and pop group ABBA's Ben Andersson an d Bjorn Ulvae plays'Chess' was about the woild chess title match-up between American Bobbie Fischer and Russian mas- ter Boris Spassky in Reykjavik, Iceland. In the Oshawa theatre version, an "unknown American" chal- lenges the world title of a Rus- sian chess master -- the plot also includes the KGB, CIA, mer- chandisers and reporters, and is set in Bangkok, Thailand and Budapest, Hungary.
