I would also suggest that every citizen of Ontario attend one day in the galléry to sce the people we elect do the job we are payng them to do. I guarantee you would be far more selective on voting day. Premier Bob Rae, Grier, Pilkey, MPP Drumrnond Whte, MPP Gord Milîs and indeed the entire NDP caucus owe the voters of Durham Region an apology. This is not democracy in action. A group of citizens concerried about the plans for. Whitby General Hospital went te, Queen's Park te see a 30,000-plus petition- presented to the Ontario government. The group attending on behaif of the petitioners was disgusted te sec three quartera of the members leave the chamber before the petition was presented. The niinister most affected, Ruth Crier, and another local MPP, Allan Pilkey, did net have the courtesy te remain in the legisature. More important things 'te attend te, you may ask. Think ain.
