HUGH GRANT The Whitby Public Library recently installed Computer, Select, a database which contains siubsciptions te more than 40 popular computer magazines. Information fromn the magazines can be printed on one of the library's laser printers. The advantage of the database, according te Thea Driesschen, reference department manager, is that information can be quickly and easily found. The introductioni of electronic services bas its problems, according to chief librarian Ren Roberts. "The library only bas room for a few work stations," he sttes. 'For example, Computer Select is only available at one work station, a 'Work station which this superb database must share with other produets." Compter Select is available at the main branch of the library.
