The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2 to 4 p.m. Over the past four years, Clements has finished a remarkable series of paintings. They are monumental, large in scale and energetically constructed coloured vortexes of whirling forme. Clements evokes a complex structure with her shapes and symbole of magic. An abstract painter, Clements employs a diversity of forme and colours to express the exverience of inner s"tes of consciousness. The whole sae vibrates with the energy of color. Clements, a pupil of the New School- of Art in Toronto, la respresented in nunierous and private collections. Her work bas Graser 's pure abstracts on display An exhibition of paintings by Fredericton artist Toby Graser will open at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery on Aug. 18. Known for hier unique non-representational work in the visual arts, 'Symphonies and Harmonies' is a 22-year retrospective which highlights perioda of development in ber career from 1969 to 1991. Organized by the University of New Brunswick Art Centre, director Marie Maltais says: "Each of her purely abstract works resonates with colour harmonies and formai rhythms which set up vibrations of response in the viewer."
