A 63-name petition demanding this action was recently presen- ted te council. Complaints about late-night basketball games and rowdyism were detailed in a covering letter which accompanied the petition. According to the residents, there have been numerous pro- blems since the half-court facility was instailed in the park, near Rossland Road and Garden Street, almost three years ago. Groups of up to 40 youths, some from as far away as Picker- ing, use the court at times, the letter states. The basketball players use obscene language, leave garbage and broken glass in the park and frequently climb over fences te help themselves te the home- owners' watr residents -charge.
