Whltby Free Pnms K1,nights win Ont. titie Thé Oshawa Blue Knights under-14 field lacrosse teain won the provincial field titlé last weekend in Burlington. The téamn, made up of Durham's finest box lacrSse players from the Whitby minor lacrosse association, outscored the opposition 52 goals ta 18. Blue Knights won every gaine at thia - year's provincials, defeating Hamilton 12-3, Brampton 14-10 and St. Catharines 11-3. In the championship gaine Oshawa met Toronto Beaches, a teain that had defeated Oshawa in the opening gaine of field play this year. However, Beaches were no match for Blue Knights who scored early and kept on scoring Eastdale CVI defeated Henry Str'eet High- Sehool 4-3 in the LOSSA (Durharn) high school basebali final last week. Henry starting pitcher Tim Irneson allowed only flive hits in six innings of work, but two of those hits were home ruas, driv- ing in three of the four Eastdale runs. With the win, Eastdale earned a trip to the Prentice Cup play- downs featuring teams in the Greater Toronto Area. Eastdale and Henr were two of thé top teams in t he Durham lege this season, and wére also ranked among the top 10 in thE Toronto area. for a 152 win. Justn YeIle played solid in goal in ail four games and held Lis goals against average to 4.5 per gaine. Goal scorers for the Blue Knights were Wes Suddons with nine, Mike Hamilton and Adamn McLea with six each, Brett Macrury, Scott Hobe and Aaron Lowes each five, Evan Cardwell and ike Longo four each, Scott Wylie, Mike Gallas and Garnett Winder each two and Casey Dupont and Chris Thaler each one goal. Other players helping in the weekend victory with some excellent defensive and offensive play were Evan Kitainura, Travis Millar, Billy Gréer, Brétt Pakosta and Nick Semeniuk.
