The United Way of Whitby, Newcastle, Region will ho given the Oshawa, Durharn one-timo funding for their volunteer leadership development project. The United Way will alo contribute $20,000 toward the project. Funding will go toward staffing and programn support costs to co-ordinate the volunteers who provide training and consultation. The volunteer leadership development project will conduct workshops throughout Durham Region on board operations structure, staffing and personnel issues, fiscal management and other topics concerned with the day-to-day operations of "ocal service agencies.
