On Tuesday, May' 10, were cailing a parente of Sinclair students to meet with us at Anderson CVI at 7 P.m. for an organizational and planning session. The evening îs sure to be one of conversation as rogether we plan implementation of the following committees. The 'Schooi Growth Team, a committee will identily and recommend initiatives that wil promnote ineamïngfiul tearmng experiences Iby encouraging students to work together with parents, teachers, and adinn- stration to address comnmon concerrne. This commtte. rnight, for instance, plan evening extra- curricular programs, and yes, inviting your parents as well. Wihat are they? Sinclair has non. yet, but student recogrition is on. of many highlights of the Sinclair commuxuty that will become a tradition. Attendance is eoMething that etudents, parents, and teachers agree is important. This committee will look at neat ways to encourage kids to coin. and connect with ail of the good stuff happening at our achool. Public relations is a committee that will look at ways of sharing the Sinclair experience with the commun4y Imagine being a Sinclair ambassador and showing off your exciting new school to al of the important guests well b. seeing. A Guide for Youth' gives young job-seekers practical information on how te go about finding a job in terms of where te start, what's out there and how te prepare. The- bookiet includes sections on identifying interests and skilîs, what employers look for in wrkers, people and places that c1arn help, sample resumés and Lcoverin% letters, jo interview tips ad advice for on the job. Last week was filled with its share of suceffs. The senior bos'Mugy ,team started thé y2aUof ih a bang after a 10.-3 vie tory over -Co0bourg with 'tries from Chiristian Skelcher and Matt Vail. The senior girls rugby team, tied Miliken Mill with tries from Lisa Drake and Tri"h Luke. The next stop is Chinguacoy. Good luck giris. Hâwever, the great rugby playing did not end there. The. midget hoysi rugy team defeated Port Perry Hfigh 17-4. Way te go, Hlawks. And don't. forget that good old Hawk spirit, Henry. Keep our rugby teame on a roll. Congratulations also goes out te, ail winners at the Durham Sills Challenge. The bronze medal went te Sarah Colleran and Mim Lovelese for graýphic communications. Students will have the. chance te attend workshops and learn more about what went on during the Holocaust.
