In two previous meetings the teama played fast, excitung hockey and this game was no exception. It was late in the second period when a Pickering forward was able to get bis stick on a low ahot and deflect it over Whitby goaltender Drew Dockrill to open the scoring. It was the last turne Pickering had a reason te celebrate. Although Pickering mounted an attack for the farut haif cf the third eriod, Whitby turned un the ofence when it was nýý Goals late in the period by Sean Pitcher and Brandon 'Fowler quickly turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 victory. Assisting on the goals were Kevin Walsh, Andrew Martland, Branch and Brimble. Gaine starts were Jainie Millage, Fowler and Pitcher. The teara has been weakened by the injury to defenseman James Simpson, and coach Millage juggled his lineup, inoving Côté back to strengthen the defence. This created a new forward lime of Jason Connor, Mfichael Finigan and Kerr. The KFC lino played very well throughout the gaine, both creating scoring opportunities at one end and taking them away at the other with tenacious backchecIng.
