Barrie, attempting te avenge an early-season loss to the Rat Pack, camne eut iskating hard from the firat faceoif. Whitby vas up te the challenge, making the first period very exciting with end-to-end rushes and numerous scoring opportunities for bath teains. Whitby goaltender Kyle Nova made some big saves carly, but at the end of the first period, Barrie led 1-0. The Rat Pack got rolling early in the second vith two goals les than a minute apart. Wade Branch and Jason Connor tallied with assists going te Sean Pitcher and Justin Have. Branch scored again late in the second period on a thréee-ay play vith Jamie Millage and Brandon Fowler. Defensive play visa outstanding in the second period and the Rat Pack allowed only one shot on the Whitby net. Leading the defense vas the pairing of Andrevi Martland and The Whitby minor novice AAA hockey teain had a win, a bs and a die in the Stoney Crcek tournament.
