TOP JUNIOR TRIA THLETE Sigsworth earns award Mike Sigsworth of Whitby bas been named Junior Triathiete of the Year in Ontario for 1993. The honour was one of four awards won by Sigsworth at the recent awards banquet that con- cluded the President's Choice (PC) Series. Sipsworth won both the junior mon s triathlon (swim, run and cycle) and junior inen's duathion (cycle and run) and was second in junior sprint (distances shor- ter than t he Olymnpic triathlon distances). Another Whitby triathiete, Craig Taylor, won the sprint series, was third in junior triath- lon and fourth in duathion. Taylor and Sigsworth com- peted in events acrose Ontario since May in the under-20 age category. The two, now training to earn a spot on the national tearn that will compete in the world cham- pionships in New Zealand in 1994, won several events this Sigsworth won the junior divi- sion of the final event in Nia- gara-on-the-Lake recently.
