Held at 814 Brock St. N., I Whtby, over 50 peope gathered outdoors, enjoyed food provided by Consumera Gas and recognized volunteer leadership in the YMCA. The president and CEO for the YMCA of Greater Toronto, Rich Bailey, was in attendance to greet volunteers ftrm children's services, community and youth services and fitness-health- rcreatiori programsi. The Hupfield Award, presented by Veirna Hupfield, was given to two Durham Region residents who have contributed outstanding volunteer leadership. Marie Mason of Whitby has been involved with the Pickering and Whitby family resource centres. Patrick (Paddy) Davies of JWhitby has been on the regional jadvisory council for three years and is currently the chair.
