Tourists get the answers here By Lucie Rochette Wih the summer season upon us, Uic Whitby Information Centre is very busy Fielding questions about both community events and tourist attractions in thc area. There are six employees at thc information centre, a department of thc Whitby Public Library. Three university studenLs wcre recently hired for the summer. Patricia Yackison, supervisor at Uic centre, says employes require computer experience, experieflce in dealing with the public, and a certain knowledge of Ontario. Many local residents go to the centre, wanting communîty information. Yackison says Uiat many brochures are available for all sorts of information, sucli as legal and financial information, pregnancy, child birth, and other health information. They also have information on Whitby sports teains, organizations, clubs, "you name it." "We have everything," says Yackison about community information.
