The team, sponsored by Dundas-Centre Guardian Drugs and Pollett's Trade Bindery, bas five wins, two losses and a fie. On June 10, the teain travelled te Markhaxn to play its cross-division rivaIs. Wolverines domidnated play throughout and teok the lead at the 23rd minute of the first half on a goal by Kevin Taylor. Dale Chung found the back of the Markham net just before the half was out. Bartluis Barrera rounded out the Whitby scoring midway through the second half for a 3-0 decision. Matthew McGrady recorded a strong performance at midfleld, while Robert Lacroix was once again very steady in the Whitby net. Whitby hosted a strong side from Woodbridge on June 14 on a preferred playing field at Jack Wilson Park (the Jeffery Park fleld was simply too cramped in previous matches). Wolverines took the lead on a goal by Mark LeBlanc in the l6th minute. Jason Evelyn shot Whitby into a two-goal lead 12 minutes later. An unrelenting Woodbridge side scored with three minutes remaining in the first half but could add no more in the second hall'. Strong defensive performances were registered by David Wilson, Andrew Allision, Tyler Scero, Michael Gardzinski and Adamn Gruchala. Lacroix had another outstanding performance in the Whitby net. Whitby played host once again on June 17 to a talented teamn from Unionville. Mathew Paciga shot Whitby into the lead on a penalty kick 16 minutes into the match. Evelyn added the team's second goal nine minutes later. A determined effort by the Unionville squad produced a goal before the haîf was eut and another 14 minutes into the second half. The match ended in a 2-2 draw. On June 24, Wolverines met East York before a two-week break i n the schedule. The Whitby side came up with a lacklustre performance, quickly falling behind 1-0. Barrera came through with a long lofted baIl that grazed an East York defender and found the mark. The Wolverines got off to a very slow start but Chung put Whitby in the lead 10 minutes into the gaine. Islington evened the scoring eight minutes later and continued te dominate the gaine. Whitby finally got on track with Graham MacLean finding the back of the Islington net in the 3lst minute. Dion Warren added another Whitby goal just before the haîf was out. MacLean added two more in the second haîf for a 5-1 victory. On the weekend of June 12 to, 13, the teamn participated in the Peterborough City Soccer Challenge Tournament. In its first match, Whitby faced a strong side fromn Gloucester. Whiàle MacLean tallied the lone marker for Whitby, it was not enough as Gloucester won the match 2-1. In its second game, Whitby defeated Ajax 12-1. Macbean led the scoring with four goals, Taylor had three and singles went to Evelyn, Lacroix, Warren, Paciga and Wilson. In the final match of the day, Wolverines needed a strong performance against East York to advance. The teami felI behind 2-0 by haîf time, but rallied midway through the second half when goals by LeBlanc and Evelyn within 90 seconds of each other, stunned the East York side. Whitby dominated the latter part of gaine, sending two free kicks just over the crossbar in the last few minutes. But unable to, find the mark, the gamne ended 2-2.
