Martina Van Hout has helped raise money for the,Canadian Diabetes Association for years. Two years ago she raised. more than $5,000 canvassing door to door in the Brooklin area, more than anybody else in Durham, Region. But a recent stroke has slowed her down a littie - but just a littie -and made it difficuit for her to get ini and out of the car. But she's not letting that stop hier. This year she's askiuig people in the Brooklin/Ashburn area who want to contribute to the diabetes, association to phone her at 655-4569. «They can bring me the money and I can give them a taï receipt.» Van Hout isn't just sitting back waiting for people to show Up.
