Chris Stevenson will open at the Robert MeLaughlin Gallery on Oct. 31. Stevenson was born in St. Catharines in 1959 and spent bis youth in nearby Effingham Valley. At an early age he was tutored- extensively by a local artist. He continued painting and drawing for, eight years until accepted into the- fine arts department cf the- Emily Carr College cf Art and Design, Vancouver, 1984-85. After returning to Ontario In 1986, he concentrated on large canvases cf marine mammalé. Craig, be the *second production of the company's l8th season entitled 'On a tilting horizon.' Per-formances are scheduled for Jan. 24, 25, 30, 31 and Feb. 1. Popular with live audiences and well-received when serialized' for 'Morningaide' on CBC Radio, 'Booster McCrane, P.M. céhallenges honesty, integrity and uneaismte survive the gritty and greedy reality in Ottawa's corrdors of power. Director Brad Carson, invites anyone with a sense cf humour te came out and join the fun cf this audition eveming. The on-stage cast will 'consist cf seven characters. There are two strong females, Margery Fullbrow (age 45-60) and Crystal WildÉose (age 25-40) and, five interesting maies including Booster (age 30-45), the Premier of Quebec (age 50-60), an American ambassador (age 40-60). There are prospective roles for black and nativ e Canadian maies in this play. uadto there are four smler roles for video performers (ages 25-50) and three voices needed for a radio segment (ages 20-60). Since these will ail be pre-taped, they are well-suited te any nervous newcomers who want to get their acting feet wet, or te someone who cannot make the time conimitment required by rehearsals three times a week.
