In the Buffalo Hornets Veterans Day tournarnent, Whitby defeated York Torne 3-1, Port Credit #1 8-0 and Lorne Park 8-1 te advance te the semi-finals. Against West Seneca, Whitby won 3-2 in a real clifihanger. Whitby then outplayed London 3-1 to win its first charninhip. The folfloîng weekend, Nov. 17-18, Whitby played in the Stoney Creek tournainent. Again Whitby advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Kitchener 8-0 and Grimnsby 11-1. hn the semi-finals, Whitby outlasted defending champion Waterloo 7-4. In the finals Whitby prevailed over hometown Stoney Creek. 6-2 te win its second chaxnpionship in as many weeks. Whitby scoing for' both tournarnents is as follows: Sean Haynes, Ryan Boyd, 19 points; Mike Heffering, Marc Lamers and Mike Hamnilton, 12 points; Andrew Marshall, 10 points; Kyle Crouch, Matt Jardin and Nick Owen, eight points; Scott Beegan and Judd Stevenson, seven; David Kubiynski and David Ditinar, five points. For the tournarnents, the goaltending duo of David Chant and Jeif Jackson combined for a superb goals against of 1.33.
