Despite the miserable weather 223 of the 260 entrants finishecl the race, which raised $7,000 for the Oshawa Symphony Orches- tra funid. Winner in the men's division was Paul Barron of Toronto, who set a course record of 24 minutes, 47 seconds over the 5km dis- tance. Barron broke the record held by Peter Maher. Firat in the women's division was Laura Konants of Toronte, with a time of 28:56. Ian Barron (no relation te Paul Barron) race organizer and one of the sponsors, was very pleased with the turnout.
