Youth program Canada World Youtn is now recruiting Canadians and landed immigrants. between the ages of 17 and 20 (as of December 31, 1989) for exchange prograins with developing countries in Africa, Asia, Latin AMerican and the Caribbean.1 Anyone working, studying, or looking for a job and interested in participating in a challenging international development program should apply now. The program involves seven months with other young people from across Canada and from the exchange country, doing volunteer work in community development, agriculture, or social services. Ail expenses are covered by Canada World Youth during the program. It is not an easy experience, but one that will lest a lifetime. Exchanges start as early as July 1990. The final deadline for applications is January 31, 1990. The campaign raises funds through the sale of peanuts through corporations, hospitals, schools, mails and individuals. Funds raised go to support programs in medical research,, patient services and public education. To date, the Kidney Foundation has sold 2,200 of the 4,500 cases it hopes to sell. The campaign runs until Oct. 31. Each case selîs for $75 and contains 25 handy bags which in turn contain 17 mini-packets. Bags seil for $3.
