The Chamber is accepting nominations for the 'Business Person of the Year' "nd 'Good Corporate Citizen Award until 4 p.m., Oct. 11. The awards will be, presented at the Oct. 20 Small Business Week kick-off luncheon at Heydenshore Pavillon. Nominees for the Business Person of the Year must have made an outstanding contribution to the town during 1988 and have been working and/or doing business in Whitby in 1989. They must be successful in their occupations. Previohs winners include Irene Westrik, Robert C. Heron, William D. Little and Nigel Schilling. The Business'Person of the Year Award is presented annually. The Good Corporate. Citizen Award is presented only when it is deemed by the Charnbe of Commerce that a business in Whitby has demonstrated its good citizenship by- making an outstanding contribution to the town and its citizens. Previous winners include Cullen Cardens and Miniature- Village and McDonald's Restaurant. Contest winner Maria McDougall of Whitby was the winner of the Whitby LACAC photo&Taph contest held on Heritage Day, Sept. 16, in downtown Whitby. She received ber prize, a copy of the Ontario County Atlas and a one-year subscription to Cen- tury Home magazine.
